The Maple Custom Absolute features 6-ply floor tom and tom shells, and 7-ply bass drum shells that produce a warm, full tone sound with excellent sustain.

Integrated triggers lend this shell pack tons of versatility. This 5-piece pack from ddrum features hybrid acoustic-electric drum shells crafted from poplar and outfitted with internal triggers. Each trigger has a shell-mounted XLR jack. The drum have a satin finish accented by powder-coated hardware. The kick and snare boast 8-ply construction and the toms feature 6-ply construction.

The Phoenix Standard 4-piece Ash Kit is a Hybrid kit that uses 4 different types of woods to make up the shells! Yamaha has brilliantly crafted a true masterpiece by formulating these different woods and their tonal characteristics for different plies that result in excellence! It also features new versions of Yamaha's Nouveau lugs, and YESS.
It has 11-ply hybrid shells, and the woods used are progressively harder from the center ply to the outer plies. The center ply is jatoba; this is a very hard wood' and it anchors the fundamental of the shell. Sandwiched on either side of this is kapur. This wood is in the mahogany family and adds warmth to the sound of the drum. These drums use an outer half-ply each of maple and burled ash.

The popular Catalina Maple series has been completely redesigned to include more Gretsch details, more Gretsch benefits and higher overall Gretsch quality. This all adds up to more value for drummers looking for a drum set that offers professional features at an easy-entry price. The new Catalina Maple series starts with the Gretsch maple formula shell. We carefully developed the maple shell specification to produce tones that explode with attack and volume and project a balanced amount of warm, low-end frequencies. All Catalina Maple shells are 7-ply, 7.2mm.
